This is a special interest group that has been operating fo at least the past 5 years.
It has evolved to be a forum for members to identify problems that they are having with computer related areas, to send their concern via email to the Facilitator and to have the problem discussed in depth at the next session.
The group meets from 10:00 am until noon on the second Thursday of the month from January to June and from September to November. The location is the Appleby Retirement Residence located on the Appleby Line just north of New Street. The attendance fee has been set at $5.00 per session that goes towards the preparation of the session by the Facilitator as well as building an appreciation fund to provide a Christmas present to the residents of the Retirement Residence for their generosity in sharing their facility with us.
It is also a structured is such a way that members are able to see what is on the Horizon in terms of computer related hardware and software as the facilitator is a member of the BETA test team for new products and services being developed.
On average, we have between 10 – 15 attendees each month and there is an opportunity to accommodate at least 10 to 15 more.
